About the Revolution
This blog will focus on something completely different, mainly BULLSHIT.
What bullshit is that, you may ask?
Simply put, we are drowning in it – the bullshit is everywhere:
In our bullshit media
In our bullshit propaganda
In our bullshit educational system
In our bullshit government
Basically, there’s bullshit in the bullshit.
The good news? There is a specific reason why the prevalence of bullshit is at a maximum capacity level in recent years. Mainly, as audiences, consumers, students, and citizens, we have disconnected our critical thinking ability chip. In other words, we have forgotten how to think in critical terms about the information fed to us.
The success of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report speaks to this phenomenon: Jon Stewart deconstructs the news to reveal the absurdity of the political theater; whereas, Stephen Colbert constructs the news to reveal the absurdity of pundit propaganda.
There needs to be a rational revolution, people! A true revolution where it doesn’t matter if you’re conservative, liberal, black, white, Christian, Jew, etc, etc, etc. The reason why everything seems to be a red / blue issue, with no grey matter in between, demonstrates this irrationality plaguing our nation.
WHAT THIS BLOG WILL DO:
This blog will be a tool to slay bullshit – all bullshit. I will be attacking issues of irrationality in the media (Chris Matthews, I’m coming for you, my friend), in politics and policy (the war, minimum wage, immigration, all of it), and everywhere bullshit needs to be erradicated (don’t think you’re safe, Fashion World … the 80s should NEVER make a comeback, assholes!).
I am an Independent with liberal and conservative beliefs – and there’s enough bullshit on all sides to go around …
WHAT THIS BLOG WON’T DO:
This blog will barely touch the likes of Fox News, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Michael Moore, Paul Begalia, etc unless it’s something so juicy, I just can’t help myself.
Look, if you believe everything Fox & Friends feeds you, A.) I’m sorry and B.) Your biggest problem isn’t irrationality, it’s stupidity, and never the twain shall meet. Have fun believing Pat Robertson talks to Jesus, the world is only 6000 years old, and that you are an integral soldier in the War on Christmas … it’s a free country after all.
But for the remaining 99% of you …
There is no place for bullshit in modern day society. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and join me in the revolution … it just requires a brain and literacy. How easy is that???
